I have a feeling I’m going to be really bad at this blog thing… I keep trying to write but I don’t even know where to begin.

Anyway, to start with I need to put up a few photos!

So I’m currently in Singapore Airport. My 6 hour layover is just as painfully long as I feared it would be (I mean, that’s most of a work day!!). It doesn’t help that as far as my body’s concerned it’s currently 2:30am. I’m going to be completely useless for anything tomorrow/today. Probably just crash when I get to the seminar house.

The flight was pretty good.

After I told Mum about this blog she sent the link to practically everyone she knows, and I’m going to point my facebook friends here too – so hi guys!

Yesterday was my last day at work, so now I’m unemployed for the first time in over 3 years! I didn’t get very much actual work done, since nervousness has fully set in so I was largely trying not to shake or throw up (it’s gonna be a fun week…) But I got a morning tea shout, as well as a card and some nice gifts :) Thanks guys!

I’ve just returned from a long weekend down south in Dunedin visiting some school friends, and now suddenly it’s less than 2 weeks until I leave for Japan!!

A couple of things I’ve learnt from this trip:

  1. I’m not too afraid of flying except the first 5 minutes (I just hate that upwards motion, feels like it should come back down at any second).

  2. I have no idea how I’m gonna pack everything I need – my bag for these 3 nights away weighed 10kg, and for 4 whole months I can only double that. So jealous of all the US-ians who can check 2 bags :O
  3. But, if I must I can actually get by with not very much stuff. I’ll just feel boring wearing the same couple of things day after day.

My other dilemma is what gift I’m going to bring for my host family. It’s hard not knowing their ages or even how many people there are. And most of the stuff in the souvenir shops is just so tacky. I think I want to get a nice book about NZ but it’s surprisingly hard to find something like that :/

Anyway, everything on my last to-do list has been finished except the shopping! Aside from that all I need to do is mend and wash any clothes I want to bring, look through the class listing again and make a list of ones I want to take, print some photos of home to bring, get some travellers cheques, take all the unnecessary stuff out of my computer and also give it a dust since it’s pretty disgusting, get a haircut…
